April — Republic of Texas International Boundary Marker

A special event station commemorating the only international boundary marker, which is entirely surrounded by US soil, is held each April. The marker is located at the Texas-Louisiana border in Panola County, Texas. This granite shaft bears the date 1840 but was not set until April 23, 1841. Established as a boundary marker between the Republic of Texas and the United States, the stone now separates Texas and Louisiana at a location of 32° 00’ 02” North 94° 02’ 33” West. All stations contacted during this event will receive a serialized certificate suitable for framing by sending a SASE.
